“SKiN” by Jean Nouvel

Debuted back in 2008, SKiN is French architect Jean Nouvel’s minimalist sofa that is both modern and comfortable, attributes that are hard to come by as so many designers side step functionality for aesthetics.

Description:

The seating is suspended and the decorative elements become structural, making it surprisingly comfortable, original and delicate. SKiN adopts innovative technical ideas such as the supporting structure in tubular pretensioned steel which holds another structural element, the cover in double-sided leather with its self-modelling geometric incisions.

SKiN is was originally created by Mr. Nouvel for the Musée du Quai Branly then reinterpreted for a selected range of clients.
