25TH Cartier Polo World Cup

25TH Cartier Polo World Cup

The Cartier Polo World Cup will celebrate its 25th anniversary this January 29th to February 1st, 2009. The Cup is the most prestigious winter polo tournament of its kind, which brings together world class polo players from Argentina, Australia, and Chile among other countries.

Four high-goal teams, with handicaps between 20 to 22 goals, will battle it out at altitudes of 1800 meters over the frozen surface of Lake St. Moritz, Switzerland. The winner will walk away with the coveted Cartier Trophy.

The four teams are Cartier, Maybach, Brioni and Julius Baer. Brioni took the trophy in 2008. Lets see if the returning champions will be able to hold on to the cup for 2009. We hear Argintine Player Pablo MacDonough (Julius Baer) will be back stronger than ever. Will the rumors foster into fruition?
