Pharrell Williams

Pharrel Williams has held a number of artistic occupations as a music producer, singer-songwriter, rapper, and as an entrepreneur, co-founding the clothing brands Billionaires Boys Club and Ice Cream Footwear.

In his recent venture, Pharrell has put on his hat as a designer, at the behest of Emmanuel Perrotin, to create the “Perspectives” chair. The chair is a reinterpretation of Charles and Ray Eames’ classic molded seat, produced from plastic material.

Pharrel has recreated the chair with an actual depiction of human legs. The pair of legs at the front belongs to a woman, while the two at back are of a man.

The chairs, which come in vivid red, yellow, sky light blue, and black, will be on display at the Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin from October 21, 2008 through January 10, 2009.

Pharrel is featured in our People’s section for his inspiring work as an artist and as a rising entrepreneur.
