Kawasaki’s Environmentally Friendly Express Train

Kawasaki’s Environmentally Friendly Express Train

Kawasaki is currently in the works to create Japan’s fastest high speed train, completely with the environment in mind.

The project called “Environmentally Friendly Super Express Train” will surpass the previous record set by the Shinkansen, or bullet train, at 186 miles per hour.

The new “Earth-Friendly” train will run at 217 miles per hour, reduce noise pollution, and will be more energy efficient with a state-of-the-art electrical control system.

Kawasaki’s goal is to finalize the project by March 2010.

The company also plans to release the train to the international market.

We are very excited that the new train will decrease the travel time from Tokyo to the eastern onsens (natural springs) of Okinawa!
